WATCH | HBO’s new docuseries puts the spotlight on Woodstock 99, DMX, Alanis Morissette and more

HBO kicked off their brand new “Music Box” documentary series 23 July 2021, with a focus on highlighting key moments in the world of music. The new six part documentary series by Ringer Films executive produced by Bill Simmons (ESPN 30 For 30) , premiered with a throwback to how the legacy of the iconic US Woodstock Music Festival of the 60’s, got revived, trashed and destroyed in the 90’s with Woodstock: Peace, Love and Rage.

In terms of what is next, fans can look forward to “JAGGED” the documentary on Alanis Morissette’s ground breaking 1995 album “Jagged Little Pill” directed by Alison Klayman, “Untitled” based on the life and last year of legendary rapper DMX directed by Christopher Frierson following his untimely passing in April 2021.   “Listening to Kenny G” directed by Penny Lane, followed by “Mr Saturday Night” directed by John Maggio, and concludes the series with “Untitled” but in this instalment, it focuses on the short life of the late rising star rapper Juice WRLD who passed away in 2019.
