LISTEN | J.Period drops new single to forthcoming album

Acclaimed hip hop DJ/Producer J.Period drops his debut album ‘Story To Tell (Chapter One)’ 30 April, 2021 and I’m sure this release is leaving countless hip hop connoisseurs drooling to hear this project.

The new album described in press as “a vibrant world of connections  between artists, songs, stories, genres, cultures, and generations: a web of creative impulses that flows like a mixtape, and bangs like a blockbuster”, will be a musical journey of three acts with Story To Tell , being the first installment.

To tease, J.Period released the lead single ‘All In Your Head’ featuring narration by Dave Chappelle, rhyming by Black Thought and vocals by Tiffany Gouché from his forthcoming project. Despite this being touted as J.Period’s debut album, he’s skills and craft have seen him collaborate with artists like Q –Tip, the Roots, Black Thought, Mary J. Blige, and John Legend to name a few.

“For my debut album, I wanted to push the envelope and carry that tradition forward, and I am honoured to have one of the world’s premiere storytellers, Dave Chappelle, as the voice of our Story to Tell. Dave discovered me through the stories I’ve told on my mixtapes and we share a true love for hip-hop culture, so I couldn’t imagine a better narrator for the next phase of my musical journey.” – J Period
